Privacy Policy
This explains what personal information MellowCV collects, why, and what rights you have over it under
South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who this policy covers
MellowCV (also called MellowCV Factory) is built and operated by Mellow Tech Services ("we", "us", "MellowCV"),
based in South Africa. This policy applies to cv.mellowtech.co.za and the MellowCV builder.
Information we collect
Account details. Your name or display name, email address, and sign-in information, handled
through our database provider.
Your CV content. Everything you type into the builder work history, education, contact
details, and any optional fields you choose to fill in, such as date of birth, gender, nationality or a
driver's licence number.
Payment information. When you buy credits, our payment partner Ozow (or WhatsApp, for manual
top-ups) processes the transaction. We store a transaction reference and the amount/credits granted we never
see or store your card or bank account details ourselves.
Communications. If you message us on WhatsApp, we see your WhatsApp number and the message
you send.
Technical data. Standard server logs from our hosting provider (Vercel), such as IP address
and request timestamps, used only to keep the service secure and reliable.
How we use your information
To create and secure your account and save your CV and cover letter data; to render your CV into the template
you choose and generate the PDF; to power the optional AI tools (Improve, Import a CV, Cover letter writer
the specific text you submit to these is sent to Google's Gemini for processing only, and isn't used by us
for anything else); to process payments and credit top-ups; to respond when you contact us; and to keep
MellowCV working properly and securely.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We only share it with the service providers that help us run
MellowCV, and only what each one needs to do its job:

How long we keep it
We keep your account and CV data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account,
we'll delete your personal information and CV data within a reasonable time, except where we need to keep
transaction records for accounting or legal reasons.
Cookies and local storage
MellowCV only uses the technical cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your
editing session. We don't run third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to
object to how we process it, to withdraw consent where processing relies on it, and to lodge a complaint with
the Information Regulator if you believe we've mishandled your information.

MellowCV is meant for job seekers aged 18 and older. If you're younger than that, please only use it with a
parent or guardian's help.

We may update this policy as MellowCV changes. We'll update the date below whenever we do.
