Terms of Service

These terms apply whenever you use MellowCV. Please read them before you sign up.

1. Agreement

By using MellowCV (cv.mellowtech.co.za and the builder), operated by Mellow Tech Services ("we", "us", "MellowCV"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. What MellowCV is

MellowCV lets you build, preview and export a CV and cover letter using our templates and optional AI writing tools. Building, editing and previewing your CV are always free. Downloading a finished PDF uses 1 credit.

3. Accounts

You need an account to save and download your CV. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for anything that happens under your account, and for giving us accurate information when you sign up.

4. Credits and payment

Credits are bought in packages, shown on our Pricing page, priced in South African Rand. You can pay by instant EFT or card through our payment partner Ozow, or top up manually via WhatsApp. Credits don't expire and aren't transferable between accounts. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for what happens if a payment or download doesn't go through properly.

5. AI features

Our Improve, Import and Cover Letter tools use AI to help you write or reformat content. AI-generated suggestions can contain mistakes you're responsible for checking everything before you download or send your CV. We don't guarantee any particular outcome, including interview or job outcomes, from using AI suggestions.

6. Your content

You own the content you put into your CV and cover letter. By using the service, you give us the limited right to process that content storing it, rendering it into your chosen template, running it through any AI tools you choose to use, and generating a PDF so we can provide the service to you. We don't claim ownership of your CV content and won't use it for anything beyond providing the service.

7. Acceptable use

Please don't use MellowCV to submit false, fraudulent or misleading information; to infringe someone else's copyright or personal information; to abuse, resell or attempt to circumvent the credit or payment system; or to attack, scrape or interfere with the service. We can suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

8. Our content and templates

The MellowCV templates, design, branding and code belong to Mellow Tech Services or our licensors. You may use them to build your own CV you may not copy, resell or redistribute the templates themselves.

9. Availability

We try to keep MellowCV running reliably, but we don't guarantee it will always be available or error-free, and features may change or be discontinued over time.

10. Liability

MellowCV is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for job or interview outcomes, for the accuracy of AI-generated text, or for outages of third-party services we rely on, such as Ozow or Google. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under South African consumer law that can't lawfully be excluded.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.

12. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time; the current version on this page always applies.
